Landon's Newborn Session
One of my very good friends, Apryl, had a sweet little baby boy in August. I was so excited to take his newborn photos. And since we had done her maternity session a few months earlier, I knew it was going to be great. The weather here in August is almost always beautiful, and Landon's newborn session was no exception. We were excited because we were able to get some of the pictures that we were really hoping we could, particularly outside. Anyway, Landon was such a perfect baby during the session, he was such a trooper, especially since we had him bare-bum in some of the shots. Apryl and her hubby were in that newborn bubble; happy, sleepy, settling into new parenthood. We all were happy with the end results of the session, and Apryl looked absolutely stunning, and she had just given birth 10 or so days before!

Chris, Theresa and the Boys
Towards the end of summer, I met up with my cousin Chris and his family again to take some pictures of their super fun family. We went to a park near my house on a beautifully sunny and bright day. Part of the goal that day was to take some fun pictures of the youngest and his gorgeous curls before they cut his hair later that afternoon. I was glad that I was able to catch a few shots of his golden locks, as you can guess, photographing young, active boys can be a little tricky! Nonetheless, I had a great afternoon with them, as always, and although the afternoon haircut included some tears (on my part as well as Theresa and the little guy), we all felt much better after indulging in some summer comfort food---popsicles!

Apryl's Maternity Session
One of my very good friends, Apryl and her husband started their family this year, and I was so excited and overjoyed for them. Apryl is a very organized and make-it-happen kind of woman, so she knew exactly how she wanted to go about documenting her pregnancy. She wanted a weekly shot in which she would wear the same outfit in addition to a more traditional maternity shoot. I was happy to oblige! The weekly shoot was such a fun way to see her belly grow, and I'm glad that she will have it documented this way to look back on. As far as her maternity shoot, she had very specific ideas of what she wanted, but was also flexible, and she was pretty much down for whatever, which was super helpful for me! We consulted on images and locations together and even scouted out what locations would work best for the time of year. So, armed with all of this inspiration, we chose a weekend that we knew would likely be sunny. Thankfully, it was, since a lot of the kinds of shots we wanted required sunlight. Apryl and her hubby showed up and looked amazing. She was such a pro, knowing how to pose based on what kind of style she wanted the picture to be, it was so easy to photograph them! We took some pictures at the Snohomish River and in the cute, quaint downtown area of Snohomish itself. They turned out spectacularly, we were all so pleased! So, thanks Apryl for letting me be there during your pregnancy, documenting away! Here are some of my favorites from the maternity session:

Luke and Jennifer's Wedding
These two. Luke is my wonderful brother and Jennifer my awesome sister-in-law. Everyone in both of our families were so excited that these two were getting married after being together for over a decade. They are both very outdoorsy, so they had planned....an outdoor wedding! They found the most perfect, idyllically beautiful ceremony location in North Everett--the arboretum at Legion Park. They wedding was in late May, which means the weather can be great, but is usually rainy. Fortunately, the day was sunny and gorgeous. The ceremony was simple and perfect for them. Since the arboretum was so verdant and bursting with color, there was no need for elaborate decorations. Everything that they chose; from the location, to Luke's suit and Jen's dress, to the processional was unique and personal. In his pocket, my brother placed a St. Christopher pendant, which belonged to our late grandpa, and our late grandma's cross pendant. We all love and miss both of them so much, so this was a super special gesture. Jennifer carried a bouquet that she put together herself and wore a dress that quite literally suited her flawlessly. The ceremony was short but meaningful and I found myself biting back tears of happiness as I snapped away. Here are some of my favorite shots from that picturesque day, sorry there are so many. I might be a little biased, haha:
